Prof. Serkan Topaloglu received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 1999 and 2002, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in 2006 from the Department of Solid-State Electronics at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.
In addition to his academic research, Dr. Topaloglu has held strategic roles in technology management and industrial R&D. He served as R&D Director at TRON Electronics between 2012 and 2015. Furthermore, he acted as the Director of Yeditepe University Technology Transfer Office (YUTTO) from 2017 to 2023, contributing significantly to the university's innovation ecosystem.
A faculty member at Yeditepe University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering since 2015, Dr. Topaloglu was promoted to the rank of Full Professor in 2021. He currently serves as the Coordinator of the Yeditepe University RF Laboratory.
Focusing his current research on high-frequency technologies, Dr. Topaloglu and his team are partners in the FIRSTto6G project, which is supported by the European Union’s Horizon Europe program and focuses on the development of 6G communication infrastructures. His areas of expertise include microwave circuit design, wireless and RF systems, and RF Integrated Circuit (RFIC) design.
