Serkan Topaloğlu received his bachelor's and master's degrees in 1999 and 2002 from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. He started his PhD in 2003 at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, Department of Solid-State Electronics, and received his doctorate in 2006.
He worked for two years at Yeditepe University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and then at Maltepe University, Department of Electronics Engineering as an Assistant Professor until September 2012. Between September 2012 and April 2015, he served as R&D Director at TRON Electronics. He started working at Yeditepe University as an Assistant Professor in April 2015, received the title of Associate Professor in April 2015, and became a Full Professor in January 2021. He has been working at the university since 2015 and serves as the Coordinator of the Yeditepe University RF Laboratory. Additionally, he served as the Director of Yeditepe University Technology Transfer Office (YUTTO) between February 2017 and June 2023.
