Abstract:
This thesis presents the design and simulation of a two-stage cascade low noise amplifier (LNA) for Wi-Fi 6E applications at the U-NII-5 band (Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure 5925 to 6425 MHz). A discrete design was implemented with lumped elements on a FR4 substrate. The proposed LNA was developed with Infineon's BFP840FESD SiGe:C RF heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT). Simulation has been performed with CADENCE's AWR Design Environment. The developed LNA exhibits a simulated gain of over 24.8 dB with the noise figure of less than 1.5 dB and is also stable along DC to 9 GHz.
