Abstract:

Cable TV broadcast is an efficient and up-to-date technology that provides television broadcasting and internet communication to end users. This technology, which is used in Turkey as well as all over the world, is one of the main technology providers for internet communication and television broadcasts. With the development of technology, it has developed and continues to develop over time to meet the increasing bandwidth, upload speed, and data rate requirements. With the increasing gain levels, the frequency bands have also expanded and as of today, they have expanded to the 1.8 GHz frequency. Due to the requirements of the technology and the field, the system units that are adjusted by the technicians in the field leave their place to the remotely controlled units. This situation necessitates remotely controlled equalizer structures to compensate for losses at different frequencies in wide bands. This thesis introduces the design and production of an adaptive module that allows smoothing of the signal gain that can be used in the CATV distribution amplifier by the DOCSIS 4.0 standard. The design includes equalization, inverse equalization, and MCU blocks. The design includes radio frequency (RF) detectors to detect pivot signals close to 258 MHz and 1.8 GHz frequencies which are determined by DOCSIS 4.0 standard. MCU analyzes signal TCP power in pivot signals and measures the slope of the signal. In the automatic mode, the module flattens the 𝑆21 parameter using equalizer and inverse equalizer signal.
